"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid" (John 14:27).

The Struggles of Our Time

Sometimes it feels like we live in the most difficult time ever, but think about it—Jesus lived in an occupied nation. It was governed by a brutal regime determined to conquer the world. Death from hunger and disease was always present. People struggled to find the necessities of life while facing Roman tax collectors. Groups maneuvered for political power and influence. Pride ruled many hearts. Consumerism consumed both the wealthy and the poor. Anger, fear, and resentment were rampant. Sadness, evil, desperation, and confusion penetrated many lives. Does that sound familiar? It is not that different from the world we live in today.

Miracles Amidst Chaos

In the midst of all this turmoil, there were miracles, love, faith, and inner peace. Jesus remained calm in every storm. He offered that peace to His disciples, promising, "I will not leave you comfortless" (John 14:18). He also said, "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever" (John 14:16). Despite the chaos surrounding Him, Jesus went about doing good.

The Gift of the Spirit

He has promised us His Spirit, but to hear it we must focus on Him. The Savior warned us that the world would not be able to hear the Spirit. "Even the Spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him; but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you" (John 14:17).

Hearing the Spirit requires effort and choice on our part. We must choose to put down our devices. We must choose to meditate and pray. We must choose to understand instead of resent. We must choose to be teachable instead of prideful. Ultimately, we must choose Him over the world.

A Song Born from Struggle

I wrote this song during COVID when the differences between us felt overwhelming. There was little room in our hearts for those who disagreed with us. Sadly, that sentiment continues today.

The Savior asks us to live in a way that transcends mere reactions. He desires something more beautiful and less superficial from us. He wants us to feel something deeper than what endless scrolling can provide. What can endless opinions answer? What can endless anger motivate? My prayer is that this song helps you find comfort and peace. I hope it encourages you to hear Him more fully in your life.

Gratitude for Support

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Allie Gardner, Daniel Bloomberg, Dave Zimmerman, and Josh Sales for helping me bring this music to life. Most importantly, I thank my Father in Heaven and the Savior for their guidance and inspiration in my life.

Embracing the Journey

Life is a journey filled with ups and downs. We often find ourselves seeking solace in music. It has a unique way of touching our souls and connecting us to something greater. When we listen to uplifting compositions, we open our hearts to peace and inspiration.

The Power of Music

Music has the power to heal. It can lift our spirits and bring us together. In times of distress, we can turn to melodies that resonate with our struggles. These songs remind us that we are not alone. They echo the sentiments of hope and love that Jesus embodied.

Finding Community Through Music

As we navigate through life, we often seek community. Music brings us together, allowing us to share our experiences and emotions. It creates bonds that transcend differences. In a world that often feels divided, let us remember the unifying power of song.

A Call to Action

Let us choose to embrace the peace that Jesus offers. Let us listen to the Spirit and allow it to guide our actions. We can make a difference in our lives and the lives of others. Together we can create a ripple effect of love and understanding.

Conclusion: A Journey of Faith

In conclusion, I invite you to join me on this journey of faith and music. Let us seek the peace that surpasses all understanding. May we find comfort in the melodies that inspire us and connect us to our Creator. Together let us choose to hear Him and share His love with the world.
