The Joy of Believing

Why do those who know the Savior experience lives filled with joy, wonder, and hope, despite their circumstances? They dared to believe in the Son of God.

I wrote this song as a reflection of the Savior's gracious nature. He faced persecution from some while others stood in awe of Him. This song spans from Christmas to Easter. It tells the story of His birth, His life, and His resurrection—the most important events in history. Yet these events are often unknown, ignored, or mocked by much of the world.

Understanding the Draw of the Savior

Many in our society struggle to grasp the allure of the Savior. Some perceive it as ridiculous—something only needed by those who lack strength or education. However, the more the Savior is rejected, the more people fail to find peace in their lives.

Too often, we live in a world filled with contention, competition, and pride. Many hold tightly to their opinions and knowledge, believing they are unassailable. Yet this path often leads to hollow meaning and misdirection.

The Weight of Anxiety and Depression

This certainty can crumble under the weight of anxiety about the future and the burden of past mistakes. Many feel that the world is a harsh, unforgiving place. They either try to control it or escape from it. They struggle to see the gentle wonder that the Savior offers.

It can be challenging to accept that the plagues of society and personal struggles could melt away under the Savior's influence, if only they would allow it. For some, His wondrous nature brings them to their knees. He teaches them to rise above being a victim in the face of suffering and derision. He invites us to see beyond our human limitations to the glorious nature He offers us when we turn our lives over to Him.

The Journey of Faith

Followers of Christ, whether in this century or 2,000 years ago, set aside their egos in pursuit of the wonder of Christ. They believe in the Son of God.

Faith is acquired gradually. It takes patience to understand that Christ is the path that leads us outside of ourselves. We kneel in awe at all He will make right in our lives. It requires effort to recognize that He is the path to healing our pain, lack of meaning, and the unfairness we can't seem to shake.

Remember the cry of a desperate father: "Lord, I believe. Help thou mine unbelief" (Mark 9:25). This struggle is universal. It is part of the plan to learn to let Him take over and adopt His nature into our lives. This process is one He will guide us through, if we allow Him.

The Contrast of Rejection and Acceptance

Herod and Pilate dismissed Christ in pursuit of self-interest. Yet ordinary people thronged to touch Him. Will you focus on Him from Christmas to Easter and throughout the year? Will you let Him fill your life with gentle glory and awe?

This song is my testimony of my Savior and my Redeemer—Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

The Power of Music in Faith

Music has a unique ability to touch our hearts and souls. It can uplift us, inspire us, and connect us to something greater than ourselves. In times of joy, music celebrates our victories. In times of sorrow, it comforts us.

When we sing about our faith, we share our experiences and emotions. We express our struggles and triumphs. Music becomes a bridge that connects us to our beliefs and to each other.

Finding Peace Through Music

In the hustle and bustle of life, we often forget to pause and reflect. Music invites us to slow down. It allows us to meditate on the messages of hope and love that our faith offers.

When I compose music, I aim to create pieces that resonate with the listener's heart. I want them to feel the warmth of the Savior's embrace. I want them to find peace in the melodies and lyrics.

Sharing Our Stories

Every song has a story. Each note carries a piece of our journey. When we share our music, we share our lives. We invite others into our experiences, our struggles, and our joys.

As we sing, we create a community of believers. We support one another and uplift each other. Together we can find strength in our shared faith and experiences.

The Invitation to Believe

The Savior extends an invitation to all of us. He asks us to believe, to trust, and to surrender our burdens. He promises to walk with us through our trials.

As we embrace this invitation, we discover a deeper connection with Him. We learn to see the world through His eyes. We begin to understand the beauty of His love and grace.

Conclusion: A Lifelong Journey

The journey of faith is lifelong. It is filled with ups and downs, joys and sorrows. Yet through it all, we can find hope and peace in the Savior.

As we move from Christmas to Easter, let us remember the significance of His life and sacrifice. Let us allow His love to transform us.

This song is not just a melody; it is a testament to my faith. It is a reminder of the Savior's presence in my life. May it inspire you to seek Him and find your own peace through music and faith.

Let us dare to believe in the Son of God.
